Bend Rocks Around Black Holes with Arcade ECS

A build-along course that turns Newton's planet into a black hole: the sky bends around it, a mining chute fires a seeded stream of rocks at a mineral plant, and you grab and pump the hole until every rock lands.

What We Will Cover

  • Escape speed, dark stars and the event horizon, in one flag on a mass
  • A starfield that bends into an Einstein ring around the hole
  • A seeded stream of rocks that is the same on every run
  • Drag a black hole in a top view and a side view, and pump its mass with the wheel
  • On target means delivered, at any frame rate

This is Course 2 of the Newton to Space Golf series. It starts from Course 1's Newton's Cannon scene and turns it into the Space Golf gravity sandbox: the planet becomes a black hole, the sky bends around it, the cannon becomes a chute that scatters rocks with a seeded generator, and a mineral plant takes every rock that reaches it. You add a side view, drag the hole with the mouse, pump its mass with the wheel, and make the aim line and the game agree at any frame rate. Every lesson pairs one scene change with one decision in the real code, tells the true story behind the idea, and has you break the code on purpose. Every code block is the actual published component source. Course 3 turns the sandbox into the twenty-level game.
