Build Twenty Levels of Space Golf with Arcade ECS

A build-along course that turns the Space Golf gravity sandbox into the finished twenty-level game: levels as pure data, a countdown and a tally, a HUD, holes on click, asteroids, ships, white holes, wormholes, a test that proves every level, and a production build.

What We Will Cover

  • Twenty levels that are pure data, laid out from pools
  • Four ways a rock can finish, including the one that exists because orbits never end
  • White holes as negative mass, and wormholes with a latch
  • A test that proves every level can be won, at three frame rates
  • A production build of the finished game

This is Course 3 of the Newton to Space Golf series. It starts from Course 2's gravity sandbox and ends with the finished game: a director that lays out twenty levels from pools, a countdown, a tally and a score, a HUD that only listens, black holes added with a click, asteroid walls, patrolling ships that move the aim line, white holes that push, wormholes that carry rocks across the field, a test that plays every level headless and proves it can be won, the player's dials, and a production build. Every lesson pairs one scene change with one decision in the real code, tells the true story behind the idea, and has you break the code on purpose. Every code block is the actual published component source.
